The Management of the New Nuclear Power Engineering Department of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers was elected on 1 June 2010

The Nuclear Power Engineering Department was launched by the common initiative of the players in the Hungarian nuclear industry (design, investment, operation, supervision, etc.). Amongst its key activities the department participates in the identification of authorizations, independent qualification of experts, adoption of nuclear power industry standards, as well as training and in-service training courses.

The Head of the Department is Mr. Kálmán Kovács of ETV-Erőterv Power Engineering and Contracting Co., the Deputy Head is Mr. Antal Vavrik of MVM ERBE Power Engineering & Consulting Ltd. Further members of the management are Mr. János Boros, Dr. Tamás Katona, Mr. István Móga and Mr. András Tóth.

Mr. Vavrik says that according to the experience of previous years the most important tasks in nuclear power engineering are the upgrading, maintenance, qualification and verification of the knowledge of engineers. In the past years ERBE has put great emphasis on the development of its nuclear power plant related competences. The company undertakes major tasks in design development, participates in nuclear power plant extension projects and pays special attention to their progress.

As general director and professional expert Mr. Vavrik is proud of his role in the Nuclear Power Engineering Department of the Chamber and hopes that his wealth of experience may contribute to the accomplishment of its targets.
